DevOps Engineer

At CSIS we are scaling our DevOps team. We’re looking for exceptional candidates with UNIX system administration experience and an interest in systems design. You are enthusiastic, dedicated, and self-driven. You are a self-starter who takes projects from start to finish.

You will join an experienced team of 15 highly skilled colleagues at our office in Central Copenhagen, Denmark. This highly relevant DevOps position comes with competitive remuneration and an environment that is productive, supportive, and fun.

The working hours are flexible during weekdays.  We are following agile cycles for new development and running our systems with CI/CD as an integral part of the day-to-day work. The department is developing products and services primarily in Python, both for our clients and for internal use. You should expect some peer training during normal business hours for the initial period of employment.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting development staff to ensure DevOps infrastructure is running smoothly.
  • Making long-term improvements to our infrastructure.
  • Using GitHub for continuous integration, code development, and peer reviews.

 

Must haves

  • 3+ years’ UNIX system administration experience (Debian Linux experience preferable).
  • Proven UNIX problem-solving, scripting, and troubleshooting skills.
  • PostgreSQL and Nginx administration experience.
  • Familiarity with Python in production environments.
  • Experience working with Puppet, Ansible, or similar deployment tools.
  • Acquainted with monitoring tools (such as Nagios, Sentry, etc.)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to pass a Danish background investigation.
  • Relocation to Denmark if currently located elsewhere.

 

Bonus points given for

  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Agile development experience
  • Advanced networking and firewall experience
